Her extensive equipment list includes Webasto diesel heat, a full suite of electronics including Simrad hydraulic autopilot with Raymarine control unit, 1000 watt inverter/charger, Balmar 100 amp alternator, Max Prop and Lofrans electric anchor windlass. Her center cockpit layout with signature HR “windscreen” and soft dodger provides excellent protection on the inevitable cold day beating up Admiralty Inlet or across Georgia strait. Below decks, her beautifully finished mahogany interior is warm and inviting, with ample storage space for long term cruising and a well conceived, functional layout.
The Hallberg-Rassy 36 is one of Europe's most popular cruising yachts. A total of 606 of these capable, well constructed vessels were built during the production run. Designed by German Frers, the HR 36 was built under supervision by Germanischer Lloyd and delivered with a CE certificate and a CE plaquette for category A (unlimited ocean voyages).
AUTUMN MIST's interior is finished in satin varnished African mahogany in the beautiful Hallberg-Rassy Scandinavian style. The cabin sole is teak and holly with snap down carpets. Her layout lends itself to good ergonomics under sail and handholds are well placed for movement throughout the cabin. Storage is extensive and well conceived for extended cruising with large lockers, storage spaces and drawers throughout. Ventilation is very good – provided by numerous hatches and opening ports (there are curtains for all ports and hatches). Her efficient center cockpit layout sleeps nine in two cabins and settee berths. Upholstery is a medium blue with multicolored chevrons and in very good condition. Headroom is generally 6' 2" and berths measure a minimum of 6' 5" in length (except for convertible settee back bunks).
Starting forward is the guest stateroom with V-berth. Access is through a closing privacy door. Or, the entire bow and head area can be closed with a privacy curtain from the salon. A removable cushion infills the "V" to make a wide double berth. A large storage space is available below the berth. Five lockers are located above and outboard along the hull side. Two reading lamps, an overhead light, a large hatch and opening port provide light and ventilation. Aft and to starboard is a large hanging locker. Forward of the hanging locker is a bank of drawers with a shelf locker above and offset with a fiddled shelf top.
The head is aft and to port of the forward cabin in the passageway between the stateroom and salon. The compartment is finished in easy to clean white laminate and molded fiberglass surfaces with just enough mahogany trim to contrast the white surfaces. A shower is integral to the space and a removable teak grate covers the sump. A curtain surrounds the space when used as a shower. A counter with large porcelain sink runs along the forward end of the compartment. Below is a huge storage locker. A mirror is mounted on the bulkhead above the counter. The Jabsco manual flush head is located outboard. There are two lockers above and outboard. A hatch and opening port provide ventilation. Opposite the head to starboard of the passageway is a large hanging locker.
Aft of the passageway to the forward stateroom is the main salon. A fixed mahogany drop leaf table is central to the space. There is storage for ten bottles of wine in the center of the table. A straight settee to starboard and L-shaped settee to port provide seating for six and good sea berths for two. The seat backs hinge up to provide a larger berth space with reading lights on the settee cushions. AUTUMN MIST has been customized with the seat backs on the port and starboard settee's capable of being used as bunks. Both seat backs are fitted with strong securing straps and lee cloths. The port upper bunk measures 6' long by 20" wide. The starboard upper bunk measures 5' 2" long and 20" wide. The port settee itself measures 6' 5" long. The starboard settee measures 5' 9" long and a cutout in the main bulkhead allows taller crew to extend their feet into the hanging locker if utilizing this berth. Above and outboard each of the settees are identical storage spaces with two lockers and a bookshelf. There are two lockers below the starboard settee with access through two hinged doors or by lifting the settee cushions. Four ports and an overhead hatch provide good ventilation. Handholds run the length of the salon along the cabin top to port and starboard. Four reading lights and one overhead light illuminate this space at night.
The galley is aft and to starboard of the salon. Finished in mahogany with white laminate counters, the U-shaped counter and provides a good seagoing arrangement, with everything one needs close at hand. The Force 10 propane stove and oven is located outboard – a stainless crash bar provides a handhold and prevents accidents. A cutting board insert for the stove top creates additional counter space. Also a white laminate and stainless steel removable stove infill stows outboard of the stove and acts as a back splash while cooking. Below the oven is a large locker for pots and pans. Forward, there is a series of three drawers and a small locker with a slide out cutting board above. Outboard along the hull side there are two long sliding door lockers that provide good storage space for dishes and dry goods. The double stainless sink with single lever faucet and top loading refrigeration compartment are located at the aft end of the counter. The sink is also fitted with a manual foot pump an dedicated spigot. There is a large locker below the sink and three lockers above the counter at eye level. An additional locker is below the inboard end of the counter. Task lights are located below the upper/aft cabinets and above the stove.
The nav station is located adjacent to the companionway to port. The large mahogany chart table measures 3' wide by 2' long and has a hinged top and locker which provides storage for charts and guide books. Forward, there's a small shelf where the VHF, GPS, and sailing instruments are mounted. There are four drawers below the inboard end of the table. Bin storage is located below the upholstered navigators seat and arm rest. The DC switch/breaker panel, tank level meter, inverter/charger control, and stereo are mounted outboard below the deck edge. Aft is a small locker with shelves and a tall hanging locker. A mahogany pencil/nav tool rack is mounted outboard of the chart table. A reading light and over head light provide illumination at night.
The master stateroom is accessed via a passageway along the port side from the salon. A double berth to starboard and single berth to port provide a flexible arrangement for sea berths or additional guests. A custom infill board and cushion allow this space to be used as one large berth measuring 6' 7" long by 5' 3" wide aft by 9' 3" wide forward. There are built in lockers above along the hull sides and aft of the berth and a tall hanging locker forward and to port. Light and ventilation are provided by two reading lights, a hatch, solar vent, two opening ports and one fixed port. Additional storage space is located below the berth cushions.
Electrical System:
Mechanical Systems:
AUTUMN MIST’s mechanical systems were installed with ease of access and maximum functionality in mind. Her large engine compartment below the cockpit is well lit, uncluttered and heavily insulated to reduce noise in the main cabin.
Deck & Hull:
AUTUMN MIST’s underbody is configured with a moderate chord length fin keel with a skeg hung rudder. Her hull is constructed of hand laid fiberglass with closed cell foam used for insulation above the waterline to minimize condensation and keep a constant interior temperature. The deck and coachroof are fiberglass with foam core. Her keel is an external lead casting bolted to a fiberglass keel stub. Topsides are white gelcoat with a blue boot stripe and sheer stripe. Her deck and cabin are white gelcoat with a blue coaming stripe. Nonskid is teak overlay on the side decks and molded gelcoat nonskid on the coachroof. Cockpit seats are overlayed with teak and there is a removable teak grate on the cockpit sole. At the aft end of the cockpit is a sturdy Solimar binnacle with stainless destroyer wheel. Forward, the signature Hallberg Rassy “windshield” and an easily stowed canvas dodger. The center window of the windscreen opens to provide ventilation. Behind the windscreen to port and starboard of the companionway are teak chart tables with fiddles that provide an excellent space for storing all the items that accumulate in the cockpit. Her side decks are easily navigated, surrounded by a teak cap rail and stainless stanchions with double lifelines. There are boarding gates to port and starboard and aft at the swimstep. On deck storage is ample for a vessel of her size. There is a medium sized locker aft, a chain locker forward and a large locker below the starboard cockpit seat. All lockers drain overboard.

«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
