She rides on a modified-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, and a long, prop-protecting keel. The interior of the Cape Dory 36 is dominated by the handcrafted teak cabinets and trim long identified with this builder. A two-stateroom layout with midlevel galley was standard. Featuring large salon cabin windows make the interior seem bigger than it is. The cockpit is big enough for several anglers and their gear offering a transom door and teak covering boards. Additional features include a teak bow pulpit, teak swim platform, wide side decks, and a compact flybridge with the helm forward.
