There’s nothing cutting-edge modern about the 288—the forward seating layout is similar to most boats in this class and the cockpit has the amenities anglers need for a successful day on the water. The bow area features a U-shaped lounge with backrests for entertaining and doubles as a casting deck when a drop-in insert is added. Forward of the console is a cushioned two-person lounger with a dry-storage coffin box below, great for gear or dive tank stowage. The cockpit boasts an enormous 60-gallon transom live well—way bigger than expected in a boat this size. The tackle station is located behind the helm and a row of rod holders are placed along the transom. To port is a hull side dive door, and a folding double wide transom seat is flanked by twin single foldaway seats in the corners.
