ESME is a custom-built 46’ cutter that has just returned from an approximately nine-month family cruise through the Caribbean and to Panama, a real-world voyage that speaks to her offshore capability, livability, and proven use as a cruising sailboat.
Built in Florida in 1993 by Rand Speas and Guy Erickson, ESME is based on Chuck Paine design lineage and constructed using cold-molded marine plywood with epoxy and fiberglass sheathing. Her construction approach and build story were featured in Boatbuilder Magazine (March/April 1996) as a cold-molded epoxy case study (article available upon request).
ESME is a heavy-displacement (18-ton) offshore cruising sailboat with a 63’ mast, 5’6” draft, and versatile cutter rig. She features a pilothouse-style raised deckhouse that provides excellent shelter and visibility; the primary helm is located aft in the cockpit, protected by a dodger.
Inside, the layout is practical and comfortable with three cabins and six berths, generous storage, and the kind of volume and utility that works well for liveaboard life, extended cruising, or comfortable time at anchor. This is a straightforward, serviceable cruising boat intended for sailors who appreciate traditional sail handling and simple, proven systems.
The owners invested in numerous updates and improvements during 2024–2025 in preparation for and during their cruising season. Documentation and receipts are available upon request.

«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
