The 1995 Hunter Legend 37.5 is a straightforward, easy handling racer/cruiser built during an era when Hunter was doing some of its best work. At 37 feet, it hits the sweet spot for sailors who want a larger, more comfortable layout while keeping storage and slippage costs under control. Heph Ze Bah is a well-maintained example of the Legend 37.5, and her cruising performance and amenities provide a nice balance between comfort and cruising speed.
Hull and Deck
Heph Ze Bah features a simple and useful deck layout for easy sail handling, and her navy bimini, dodger, and connector offer protection from the elements while providing an attractive appearance. Whether passage-making or racing the buoys, the Legend hull form is quick and handles predictably in a wide range of breeze. Lines are led aft atop the coachroof, while the deck remains clean and uncluttered. Port and starboard stern perch seats will quickly become favored places to hang out while underway or at the dock, and a bow seat at the forepeak will get you a great view as the bow cuts through the water.
Sails and Rigging
The Legend 37.5 differs from most Hunter sailboats as it has a fractional sloop rig with a pinheaded mainsail. This reduces mainsail area slightly and affords more precise sail control in bigger breeze. Sails have been replaced recently and include a main, 105% jib, and spinnaker. The sailplan is efficiently balanced and can be shortened easily if needed. Standing and running rigging have been replaced over the past 10 years for added peace of mind.
Interior
Down below you will enjoy ample head room, a spacious but efficient galley with generous refrigerator and freezer access, and the warm woods not often found on newer boats. Teak and holly flooring provides a classic look, and teak ceilings and cabinetry in just the right amounts bring warmth without making the space feel dark. Daylight finds its way inside through hullside lights and portlights on the coachroof and overhead hatches. Upholstery on Heph Ze Bah is in good condition and is contemporary in color and finish. Ample seating at the salon can be converted to extra berthing, and a drop leaf table can accommodate quite a few guests. A private forward cabin features a V-berth with hanging lockers, and an additional private aft cabin includes storage shelves and a queen berth with storage underneath. Hunter was ahead of its time with this design by placing so much comfort and space inside of a sub 40-footer.
Engine and Systems
A reliable Yanmar diesel provides auxiliary power and maintenance has been diligently documented. Engine mounts, alternator, and shaft packing have all been replaced over the years as standard ongoing maintenance. Electronics were replaced in 2013.
If you are looking for a dependable cruiser with good looks and a pleasing turn of speed, ideal for weekend cruising or longer passage-making without compromising your budget, make plans to get aboard Heph Ze Bah soon--she won't disappoint!

«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
