The 2010 Icon Superyacht, known as LOON, is a remarkable example of luxury and innovation in the world of yachting. With a substantial refit in 2020 and a unique hull extension in 2014, this 221-foot superyacht offers an unparalleled experience on the water. Icon Yachts are renowned for their craftsmanship and attention to detail, and LOON is no exception. The extension added by the Icon factory created one of the largest beach clubs seen on a vessel of this size, featuring a 24.6-foot by 11.48-foot pool that can be filled with either saltwater or freshwater, surrounded by sunbeds for ultimate relaxation. The yacht's layout includes seven luxurious cabins, accommodating up to 13 guests, ensuring a comfortable and opulent experience. With a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots, LOON provides a smooth and stable ride, thanks to its displacement hull and standard zero-speed stabilizers. This superyacht is perfect for those seeking a lavish lifestyle on the water, ideal for Mediterranean cruising, island hopping, or corporate entertaining. Considerations for prospective buyers include the age of the vessel, although its refit ensures modern amenities and style. The yacht's location in the Virgin Islands adds to its allure, offering immediate access to some of the world's most beautiful cruising grounds. With a price of USD 44,900,000, LOON represents a significant investment in luxury and prestige.
LOON is a 221’ Icon Motoryacht with 6 decks and 7 staterooms and is considered the most famous and marketed charter yacht in the world. Combining comfort and luxury, Studio Linse (Interior Designer) created the interior with a minimalistic and refined elegance. The subtle colors and elegant furnishings create a serene atmosphere for relaxed ocean living. While Redman Whiteley Dixon Design (Exterior Designer) perfected a true design masterpiece with incredible exterior comfort. A few outstanding features are her main deck master with a private staircase up to her 180-degree view private lounge and/or office with a private exterior sunning area (this lounge and/or office could one day be easily transformed into a separate VIP stateroom similar to her sistership allowing for an 8-stateroom configuration). In 2014 the Icon factory extended her hull by 16.40’ (5m) allowing for the largest beach club ever seen on a vessel of this size; one of the coolest features only found on Icons is the private hallway between the beach club and the lower guest accommodations. In addition, this extension made for an aft deck playground including a 24.60’ x 11.48’ (7.5m x 3.5m) saltwater or freshwater pool surrounded by sunbeds. There is also an additional exterior sofa and dining area forward of the pool. Forward of the Owner’s lounge and/or office is a large tender garage, which is one of the largest garages on similar size vessels! LOON’s garage fits 3 tenders, 3 jet skis and several toys. The garage’s location and size were incredibly thought out because it keeps the tenders off the decks, keeps them weather-protected, and allows for the massive beach club where a tender garage is usually located; this also allows for easier toy removal while stern in, and allows for guests’ immediate access to the water without waiting for the typical aft garage set up. LOON’s spacious interior can accommodate up to 13 guests in 7 staterooms. The Owner’s master stateroom spans over two decks. There are 2 additional guest staterooms on the skylounge deck which is forward of the skylounge. On the starboard side there is a spacious VIP guest stateroom with a queen-size bed, and forward to the port is a smaller stateroom with a single berth, perfect for a child or nanny. There are 4 comparable sized staterooms on the lower deck, all with queen berths, 2 of these berths can easily convert to singles. LOON was built for long-range cruising and boasts a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12.5 knots. She is equipped with zero speed stabilization both at anchor and underway to ensure a comfortable voyage in all weather conditions. The 2010 Icon Superyacht LOON is a testament to luxury and innovation, with a unique hull extension that sets it apart from other vessels in its class. The build quality is what you would expect from Icon Yachts, known for their meticulous craftsmanship. The yacht's sea-keeping abilities are enhanced by its displacement hull and stabilizers, providing a smooth ride even in choppy waters. The layout is designed for both relaxation and entertainment, with a large beach club and pool area that is rare for a yacht of this size. From a value perspective, the yacht is competitively priced considering its features and recent refit. A marine surveyor would likely focus on the condition of the hull extension, mechanical systems, and the state of the interior finishes given the vessel's age. This yacht is ideal for those looking for a luxurious and spacious platform for entertaining or extended cruising. However, the substantial running costs and maintenance requirements mean it is best suited for experienced owners or those with the resources to manage a superyacht.
Owners appreciate the unique features and luxury of the Icon Superyacht, particularly the expansive beach club and modern amenities.
