2005/2018 Hanse 531 | Savarna
Introducing Savarna, a meticulously maintained Hanse 531 launched in June 2005, hull number 36. This proven ocean-going yacht has been significantly upgraded to deliver outstanding performance, safety and comfort. She features an epoxy hull and a 1-metre taller rig than earlier models, offering enhanced sail power and handling.
Savarna is New Zealand-registered (NZ Ship NZ1075, renewed September 2025) and underwent a comprehensive refit in 2018. Key upgrades include a reinstalled keel with stainless steel bolts, new Jefa rudder and alloy stock, and a powerful 110 hp Yanmar engine with only around 700 hours. Electrical systems were professionally rewired by Enertec and enhanced with a Juice lithium-iron battery system for reliable energy management.
All water and diesel tanks were replaced, along with fresh plumbing, new hot water boiler and updated electrical infrastructure. Navigation and safety are state-of-the-art, with Simrad electronics, radar and a CJD watermaker producing 260 litres per hour. Both water and black water tanks are new, with upgraded fresh water heads and all seacocks replaced.
Recent servicing includes mast and rudder bearing service, hydraulic backstay tune, new anchor winch with 100 metres of stainless chain, and a full Northern Lights 6.5 kVA generator service in November 2024.
The rig and sail wardrobe are in excellent condition. Savarna features a Leisurefurl boom, Doyle self-tacking and overlapping headsails, a maintained mainsail and two gennakers with socks, allowing for versatile sailing in a range of conditions.
Prepared for offshore adventures, Savarna carries Category 1 safety gear, including a Plastimo Transocean liferaft, personal EPIRBs, Icom M802 SSB radio and Iridium Go. Additional features include a reliable inflatable dinghy with Mercury 9.9 outboard, solar panels (pending reinstallation), new bimini and dodger, and recent antifouling.
Savarna is ready for her next chapter — whether crossing oceans or coastal cruising, she offers a refined balance of quality, upgrades and proven capability.
«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
