2012 Grainger 50 - Safiri
Safiri is an exceptional example of Tony Grainger’s renowned performance-cruising designs, expertly built by Hart Marine in Melbourne. Light, strong and well balanced, she delivers a superb combination of speed, comfort and offshore capability. Her 8.1-metre beam, mini keels, epoxy composite construction and light displacement of 8,500kg ensure efficient passagemaking and excellent handling under sail and power
Designed for extended cruising, Safiri features a spacious saloon and four generous cabins including two king berths and two doubles. Headroom is 1.95 metres in the saloon and up to 2.0 metres in the hulls. The galley, located in the starboard hull, is equipped with new Isotherm refrigeration and freezer (2025), a three-burner gas stove with oven, stainless-steel sink and gas alarm. Two bathrooms with electric freshwater Vacuflush toilets, a 160-litre hot-water system and 1,500-litre water capacity ensure comfort for long-term cruising
Twin Yanmar 54hp diesel engines with low hours provide reliable propulsion. Safiri cruises at 6.6 knots and reaches 8.5 knots under power assisted by feathering Seahawk propellers and SD50 saildrives. Navigation and communications include Simrad instruments, radar, autopilot and AIS, dual chartplotters (B&G and Simrad), Icom VHF, Fusion stereo and Starlink connectivity
Well equipped for off-grid cruising, Safiri has 840Ah of lithium batteries, a 120-litre-per-hour watermaker, 3,000W Victron inverter, 2.6kVA generator, washing machine and 1,780W of solar capacity. Sailing systems include 2024 mainsail and genoa, screecher, bowsprit, furling systems and electric Anderson winches for easy short-handed sailing
Safety features include a four-person liferaft, EPIRB (expiry 2028), offshore flares, six electric bilge pumps and multiple fire extinguishers. Ground tackle comprises a 55kg Rocna anchor with 80 metres of 10mm chain and Anderson windlass new in 2024. A custom 3.8-metre tender with 25hp Yamaha outboard, davits, hardtop bimini, deck shower, BBQ and full cruising inventory complete this package
Tax paid in Australia, freshly antifouled November 2025 and fully prepared for blue-water cruising, Safiri is ready for her next offshore adventure. Contact The Yacht Sale Co. team for more information or to arrange a viewing.,
«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
