Super Clean and Ready to Go!
The 2000 Catalina 320 is a solidly built, performance-oriented cruising sailboat that balances traditional Catalina durability with modern amenities. Designed by Gerry Douglas and produced in California, the Catalina 320 has earned a loyal following for its spacious layout, responsive handling, and ease of maintenance—making it a smart choice for weekend sailors and coastal cruisers alike. La Vita e Bella is a one-owner, exceptionally well-maintained vessel that won't last long on the market.
History
The boat was purchased new by her current owner in 2000 and has been on Lake Erie for her entire life. Stored indoors during the winter and sailed regularly during the summer, she has never been neglected and is very clean and comfortable. Owner-performed maintenance is completed each spring and fall, including engine oil and filter changes, fuel system filters, buffing and waxing. In 2017, the Yanmar diesel and Kanzaki transmission were rebuilt and the fuel system was polished. Her bimini and connector were replaced in 2023, and in 2024 a new propeller shaft and cutless bearing were installed. A new inverter/charger was installed this season. La Vita e Bella also comes with a Zodiac Zoom 230 dinghy and a 4hp outboard. Vessel electronics were updated to include an integrated Raymarine system with depth, wind, speed, plotter, and autopilot.
Hull and Deck:
The Catalina 320 features a sturdy fiberglass hull with a wide beam carried well aft, improving interior volume and cockpit space. The deck layout includes double lifelines, molded non-skid, and wide side decks for secure movement underway. The cockpit is large, featuring a pedestal wheel with integrated electronics, cockpit cushions, stern rail seats, and a walk-through transom with swim ladder and shower.
Interior:
The two-cabin layout is among the roomiest in its class. The forward V-berth and large aft cabin with an athwartships queen berth provide true private sleeping quarters. The salon includes a port-side settee and a starboard U-shaped dinette that converts to a double berth. High-quality teak joinery, solid surface countertops, and ample storage highlight Catalina’s focus on practical comfort.
Rigging and Sail Handling:
The Catalina 320 employs a masthead sloop rig with a deck-stepped mast and swept-back spreaders. Standing rigging is stainless steel with an internally led halyard and control lines for clean and safe sail handling. Standard sail plan includes a full-batten mainsail and roller furling genoa. All lines lead aft to the cockpit for simplicity. A new mainsail was installed in 2020, and the original main and its Dutchman flaking system will come with the boat. The furling genoa is original and is in serviceable condition.
