The owner of SAFARI is a ship carpenter who has meticulously restored, upgraded and maintained her for the past 40 years. She is in very good condition and the owners are now looking for the right new home for her.
Most summers, she has been cruising the coast of Maine and each fall the boat is completely emptied, thoroughly cleaned, inspected and projects and upgrades undertaken. In 2015 SAFARI was relaunched after an extensive multi-year restoration project. The interior was completely removed and refinished. The restoration included new floors, rudder and mast step ring frames which are a structural improvement to the original design. Refitting included installing many new components: Yanmar 38 hp diesel engine, fuel tank, holding tank, main skylight, electronics, sails, roller furling, standing rigging, lifelines and more. Previous projects included plywood and dynel deck and coach roof, monel keel bolts, replaced lower cockpit mahogany and cabin house front and back mahogany, replaced lower planking, 6 bronze self tailing winches, and strip and refinishing all wooden spars. A more detailed list and survey can be made available upon request to the broker.
SAFARI is currently receiving her seasonal maintenance. All exterior bright work and spars have a fresh coat of varnish, the hull is getting painted and she will be ready to launch and for the new owner to enjoy the 2025 summer aboard SAFARI.
Designed in 1938 by renowned naval architect C. Raymond Hunt, the Concordia Yawl is arguably the most successful large one-design wooden boat in history. Comfortable, sea-kindly, and fast in all conditions, the well-proven Concordia Yawl has become something of a legend.
«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
