Valerie Arden….her story…

The owners, both lifelong sailors, spent 4 to 5 months a year on board with their family, and wanted a dependable vessel/home. She traveled up and down the east coast and over to the Bahamas under their ownership, and previously went much further south, always providing safe passage for her owners.

They’ve had her for 25 years, and she is a valuable family member, so upgrading her and keeping her in good shape was a top priority.

Over their ownership she has gotten the following:

·       Fiberglass decks. Old teak removed and new fiberglass with inorganic coring laid in 2014. Check out the picture showing the thickness and composition of these decks.

·       Replaced bow sprit, chainplates and standing rigging.

·       Replaced fuel tank in 2000.

·       Engine refurbishment by Hinckley Yachts of Stuart in 2013, including compression test, motor mounts, shaft, heat exchanger and hoses.  New hoses in 2022 and heat exchanger. Clean oil analysis in 2023 with 9100 hours on engine.

·       Replaced mast step and added cruising Spinnaker, 120 high cut genoa and partial batten main sails. All sails maintained by Mack Sails since new.

Most recently, 2019 to 2024, these improvements were made:

·       New main salon upholstery in 2023 and forward cabin upholstery in 2021

·       New galley counters in 2024

·       Re-bedded those lovely deck prisms

·       New steaming/deck light in 2024

·       New B&G electronics in 2019

·       Dodger, bimini and cockpit enclosure with clear and side shades in 2019

·       New Dometic Reverse cycle heat and air in 2022

·       New Lofrans Tigress electric windlass 2022 with heavy wire and new chain in 2019

·       New stainless steel hardware on bowsprit

·       New Raritan Sea Era QC electric macerator head in 2020 October, Mack install. (repair kit included)

·       Siren marine monitoring system 2021

·       Shower base renewed in 2024

·       Topside paint touchup in 2024

·       New hoses for the engine and hot water exchange in 2022

·       Clean oil analysis in 2023, inspection and regular full service April 2025

·       Bottom paint 2024

·       Recent rigging inspection in 2024 by Rhino Rigging

·       Aqua Signal Combo Masthead and Foredeck Lamp 2022

She is a stalwart boat, and beautiful in her traditional design. She will turn heads, and commands respect because of her known seaworthiness.
