1983 Prout 37 Snowgoose Sailing Catamaran

The Prout Snowgoose is the original production cruising catamaran. Built in England for the North Sea, it is renowned for its rugged construction and blue water capabilities. Many have completed circumnavigations. The compact design makes it great for exploring offshore reefs, shallow lagoons and even small inland waterways. The Snowgoose has the stability of a cat, but fits into standard marina slips. The low air draft is ICW-friendly and even allows crossing the Okeechobee with the mast up. The Snowgoose has solid fibreglass stub keels and is beachable. The shallow draft is perfect for the Bahamas.

 S/V "Geru" is a 1983 Prout Snowgoose 37 with an owners' version layout with a queen-size bed forward and two aft cabins. She has extensive cabinetry and shelving for storage throughout. Her current owners have been cruising on her extensively between Canada, the Caribbean and Central America and have just moved onto a larger catamaran.

It's not everyday that a great cruising boat comes along that has been so well equiped as this Prout Snowgoose. "Geru" is truly one of those. She has been expertly updated and modified for extended cruising. This is an ocean-going yacht that is also beachable. Moderate air draft that allows passage on many bridges, and all of the ICW fixed bridges. She has a draft that will get you tucked in those shallow spots for added safety. Her beam will allow for dockage in most standard marina slips.  

This yacht has extensive storage spaces that have been custom designed for outstanding convenience and volume. She has a solid foredeck rather than a net found on most catamarans. This is truly a unique and exceptional vessel.
