Lets stop and think about something for a minute when it comes to maintenance.

When one thinks of a Fire Truck or Fire Engine, one sees a shiny and very well maintained piece of equipment.

In fact did you know when it comes to Fire Apparatus, they are the highest maintained vehicles out of any municipalities equipment inventory.

Why? Because lives depend on it.

The owner, a retired Fire Chief and has kept that same exact mindset when it comes to the maintenance of Karen Gayle.

She has always been kept in a state of readiness, to go at a moments notice. Hop on board, Turn the keys and Cast off the lines ready.

She has low hours on her rebuilt engines.

Based on a survey report in 2022 Karen Gayle went through a complete out of boat engine rebuild in 2002 on both engines and currently has only 410 hours on the port engine and 407 Hours on the starboard engine.

Karen Gayle has had regular service and regular preventative maintenance care performed since her refit.

UPGRADES:

One of her many upgrades was a remodel of her engine compartment with an hydraulic opening engine room single hatch, instead of the traditional two access hatches allowing for more room to work on the engines and allowing for more storage of engine maintenance supplies.

Another Upgrade, the owner was in the processes of installing a new fly bridge in preparation for he and his wife to do the Great Loop. This leaves the new owner the option to either complete the new fly bridge or easily remove it as the controls and electrical have not yet been installed.

While the current owner was in the process of adding the upgrades and improvements, a family member became very ill. Due to this Illness in the family the current owner and his wife sadley are unable to fulfill their dream of doing the Great Loop.
