S/V “Repose” – 1993 Caliber 35
The Caliber 35 is a timeless classic in the cruising community, known for incredible quality, performance, and design. With a spacious v-berth cabin and an aft quarter berth, she is ideal for a couple or family, and her shallow draft makes her perfect for exploring the Bahamas and beyond. “Repose” is in great condition and will make a safe, stylish, and a practical choice for her lucky new owners! Fit with lithium house batteries, 800 watts of solar, Victron solar charge controllers and a 2000-watt inverter/charger, she comes fully equipped for off-the- grid cruising.
Construction:
“The method of construction of the Caliber 33/35 is just about as good as can be found on a moderately priced, production fiberglass boat. The hull is constructed of solid fiberglass and resin laminate. There are substantial and closely spaced floors throughout the bilge, and unlike many boats in this size and price range, Caliber does not use prefabricated fiberglass liners blindly secured in place with adhesive bonding materials. Instead, Caliber secures each bulkhead and joiner component with two to four layers of hand-laid fiberglass cloth and resin.
Decks are constructed with plywood rather than balsa wood. The core and the deck-to-hull joint is sealed with a polyurethane adhesive and then bolted through an aluminum toe rail every 6" with 1/4" stainless steel carriage bolts. The bolts are fit into square holes in the toe rail so that tightening the nuts will not cause the bolts to turn and break the caulking seal. This creates a strong, solid structure, and creaks and groans common to lesser boats when they are stressed are practically nonexistent with the Caliber.” -excerpt from Spinsheet- Jack Horner, 2000

«Yacht Access found my first Hatteras for me over twenty-five years ago; since then they have helped me buy and sell four more boats – and become great friends. Their service during the sale is great, but their service after the sale they is exceptional – without the knowledge and guidance provided by Yacht Access I would never have had such a pleasurable ownership experience. The staff at DDYS knows everyone in the boat business and helped me find the best service and supply vendors to take care of my boats – I could not have owned five boats without them!»
