The Haven 12-1/2’ is a modification of the timeless Herreshoff 12-1/2’ done by the incomparable Joel White, the Haven features all the features of her inspiration: a stable and forgiving sail, the ability to single-hand or sail with your entire family, and the classic look that turns heads on the water, with the added convenience of a shole draft with the centerboard.
Legacy was meticulously built by the owner in 1999 and sailed in New Jersey’s historic Barnegat Bay. The boat has been lovingly maintained and cared for by the owner and she remains in “Bristol Condition”. She is planked in Atlantic White Cedar over a White Oak stem bent frames and centerline. All fastenings are bronze. She has Honduran Mahogany seats, coamings, transom, and interior trim. Her gaff rig is made from Sika Spruce with Optimum Sails. She has a custom fit canvas cover for proper winter storage and is ready to go sailing as soon as the weather gets warmer.
Recent work on the boat includes recaulking the underwater planking (2023) and all the brightwork was stripped back to bare wood and recoated (2024).
Legacy comes with a Load Rite trailer (1999), making it easy to launch and transport yourself and also a canvas cover for winter storage. Legacy is a remarkable turn-key boat
«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
