The Hunter Passage series are considered to be the best constructed of the classic era Hunters, really made for getting out there and exploring the world. Latitudes is a fine example of the Hunter Passage 420 Center Cockpit. Her current owners have only owned her for three (3) year before a change of plans. In those years they replaced or improved all the big-ticket items, sails, rigging, water maker, lithium, charging, a suite of new Raymarine electronics - huge sheaf of invoices adds up into the tens of thousands. Her previous owners had her for 16 years and used her for East Coast coastal cruising and a bit of Bahamas.
Her ample spaces, both interior and exterior seem to conflict with her actual length overall. The cockpit and decks are large and roomy, with lots of space to relax or move about. The aft deck with its large and plush stern rail seats seems a perfect place to relax and watch the sun go down. Inside there’s a remarkably roomy salon and galley, but the really impressive space is the aft master cabin with a huge walk-around queen bed, ensuite dry head, all surrounded by beautiful real-wood cabinetry. Finally, up forward is a comfortable pullman berth with another ensuite head with a large shower space. All this adds up to a fantastic cruising vessel for a couple with occasional guests or a young family.
Back to construction: The hull is well built of fibreglass with Kevlar reinforced impact areas and leading edges. She has a hardened lead keel and ICW friendly B&R rig. The large cockpit comes with a complete enclosure to serve as additional living space even on cool nights. Side decks are wide and confidence inspiring when it’s necessary to go forward underway.
This vessel is fully-equipped the owners having moved ashore are leaving behind a huge assortment of extras and accessories and lifestyle items included in the vessel - she’s coming as completely turn key.
The salon consists of a dinette to starboard, with a plush U-shaped settee. The table drops down to form a third double berth, with a bench seat amidships. A 2-person settee to port sits just forward of the galley.
The spacious, well-appointed galley is to port of the companionway, it has large fridge & freezer, double sink, stove, microwave and plenty of surface area for food preparation.
The chart table is to starboard of the companionway, behind the dinette. Leading aft of the chart table is access to the luxurious aft cabin. It has standing head room, a centerline queen berth that can be accessed from both sides. bedside tables, storage down both hulls and space to move around. The head is on the port side (forward) and amidships is access to the engine compartment (down low) and higher up, there is a hatch that opens into the generator compartment.
Further access to engine compartment and generator is in the short passageway that leads to the aft cabin, as well as from the area below the companionway.
The forward accommodation consists of a pullman berth to starboard, with storage and a settee to port, with the head in the bow.
This is a turnkey comfortable platform from which to explore the Caribbean. Bring a duffle, grab some groceries and go!
