The Glenn Henderson-designed Hunter 306 combines value, performance, and comfortable accommodations.
"Isabella" is powered by an 18 hp Yanmar 2GM and comes with the well-known B&R rig with Selden in-mast furling and Selden Furlex jib furler. This boat is easy to sail singlehanded or with a couple. Two Lewmar self-tailing winches on the coach roof make it easy to handle the mainsail furling, mainsheet, outhaul, boom vang, and jib sheets. A 3'10" deep reverse "L" lead bulb keel gets the maximum amount of weight down to keep the boat on its feet in a big breeze.
The huge cockpit is great for entertaining and comfortable sailing. It has a binnacle with wheel steering and electronics as well as a table, shower, and seating built into the stern rail. A bimini protects the crew from the sun and elements.
On deck she has a walk-through transom with swim platform and telescoping swim ladder.
She is equipped with a VHF, compass, Raymarine ST Speed/Depth, Raymarine chartplotter with Navionics Great Lakes maps, Raymarine autopilot, and a stereo.
Belowdecks, the laminate cabin sole with teak trim is a beautiful backdrop for a generous settee with plenty of headroom, comfortable seating, an ample dinette that converts to a double berth, and a dedicated nav station starboard. The modern L-shaped Galley has CorianĀ® counters, a Force 10 2-burner propane range, a deep stainless steel sink, an icebox with 12-volt refrigeration, and plenty of storage. Two deck hatches, two fixed ports, and three opening ports create an open, airy feeling.
There are two cabins: a v-berth forward and a large aft cabin. A full-size enclosed head comes with a shower, vanity with sink, and plenty of storage.
The 306 is an amazingly spacious layout for the 30-foot boat, perfect to provide easy, enjoyable Great Lakes and coastal sailing for a couple or small family.
