The 2005 Carver 41 Cockpit Motor Yacht is a midsize cruising motor yacht that blends spacious live-aboard comfort with a layout well suited for entertaining or water-oriented recreation. Built from 2005-2007, it features a modified-V fiberglass hull with a shoal draft of about 2 ft 7 in. making it practical for coastal cruising and inland waterway use. The beam is generous for its length—around 13′ 5″—providing good interior volume and deck space. LOA (length overall) is about 42′ 11″.
One of the defining features is its extended cockpit and swim platform, which make the yacht especially versatile. The cockpit serves as a hub for water activities (swimming, diving, launching tenders), with easy access from the master stateroom via a sliding glass door. There’s also a roomy aft sundeck/lounge area behind the cockpit, and a flybridge above with helm station, seating, often a wet bar, and favorable visibility.
Deck hardware tends to be comprehensive: windlass with anchor, under-seat/deck storage, often canvas enclosures or Isinglass, plus custom upholstery, flooring upgrades, and bow thruster.
Inside, the 41 is built to feel roomy and home-like. The salon is full-beam with elevated side decks, which raises the interior windows and helps with light and views. Headroom in many units is about 6′ 5″, giving a comfortable sense of space. There’s typically abundant use of cherry wood cabinetry and trim, high gloss finishes, rich joinery, and often upgrades like hardwood or cherry-wood floors.
The layout usually includes two private staterooms: a master aft that offers direct access to the cockpit, and a forward stateroom often with an angled double berth. There are two heads, each with shower stalls, and use of high-quality fixtures. The galley is L-shaped, equipped with appliances like microwave/convection oven, cooktop, under-counter refrigeration/freezer, and decent counter space. Dining is handled via a face-to-face dinette.
«Yacht Access found my first Hatteras for me over twenty-five years ago; since then they have helped me buy and sell four more boats – and become great friends. Their service during the sale is great, but their service after the sale they is exceptional – without the knowledge and guidance provided by Yacht Access I would never have had such a pleasurable ownership experience. The staff at DDYS knows everyone in the boat business and helped me find the best service and supply vendors to take care of my boats – I could not have owned five boats without them!»
