MINOT is an exceptional example of the Passport 615/585TC (twin cockpit) series. Commissioned by an experienced husband and wife team with four boys moving up from a Ted Hood designed Little Harbor 48, the project was overseen by Thom Wagner of Wagner Stevens Yachts out of Annapolis, MD. Sprung from the boards at Dixon Yacht Design of Southampton, UK- one of the world’s preeminent yacht design firms of the last forty years- the design brief called for a fully capable blue water performance cruising yacht able to be run efficiently and safely shorthanded both in near shore waters as well as crossing oceans. Equipped with circumnavigation in mind with safety features and redundant systems befitting such an undertaking- as the fates would have it MINOT has kept closer to home since launch in 2012 and has benefitted from light summer use only in New England with winters ashore. 

Being US East Coast based and also desirous of accessing more remote (and less crowded) anchorages, MINOT’S owners opted for a shoal draft keel while all the while keeping sights set on performance with a custom Hall carbon fiber spar and carbon Leisure-Furl boom for ‘push button’ sailing. Chock full of thoughtful custom touches... MINOT has received the best of care from Bristol Marine in Somerset, RI- a gem of a privately owned and run yacht yard with a true “can do” attitude and approach, which means her entire maintenance and service history will be available to the next owner. 

One of the signature design elements of the Passport 585 is the addition of a C-shaped settee facing the aft deck which is nothing short of genius. More on this second cockpit in the body of the listing. Also of note is the twin-wheeled center cockpit which takes design cues from Ted Hood’s Little Harbors with walk-thru's to the side decks and an incredibly ergonomic layout for sail handling directly from the helms. Also worthy of mention from our start, is the versatile interior layout with three double cabins plus a passage cabin/workroom aft providing access to the truly best in class walk-in engine room. Bravo!
