Erin and I have personally sailed AHYOKA in some spritely off-shore conditions with her owner. On a 30-hour non-stop run from Ft. Lauderdale down to Key West with 15-17 knots off the port beam we had hours of 8-9 knots of boat speed on a summer moonlit night. Spectacular! Her performance keel has her pointing into the wind like she’s on rails. This is an amazingly super fun boat in a wide range of sea conditions. In lighter air, her Bahama blue asymmetrical spinnaker helps AHYOKA achieve the same hull speed as wind speed.
Performance package (upgraded laminate sails, spinnaker w/sock & gear, extra winches, performance keel, upgraded engine, adjustable backstay, dyneema halyards)

12,000 BTU reverse cycle heating & air conditioning system
Upgraded B&G electronics package w/9" Zeus MFD, autopilot, wind, depth, speed, multi display, VHF & Fusion Bluetooth stereo
All halyards and running rigging lead back to dual helms, freeing up the rest of the cockpit for lounging
Running rigging below coamings for an uncluttered deck layout

Upgraded FCL (Fast Cruising Laminate) performance sails from Elvstrom (new mainsail 2024)
Super responsive rack & pinion JEFA steering system for precise performance and control
German sheeting controls for the fully battened mainsail and self-tacking jib allow for ‘set it and forget it’ sail plan when short handed or out just for fun – set the sails and tack your way upwind without taking your hands off the wheel!
New Hanse 348 replacement runs about $325,000 similarly equipped
NOTABLE FACTORY & OWNER UPGRADES/UPDATES
Upgraded larger Yanmar diesel engine (29HP vs standard 18HP)
Performance package includes:
FCL performance tri-radial cruising laminate sails from Elvstrom, fully battened
Dyneema halyards
Spinnaker halyard
Spinnaker blocks (bow, port/starboard cockpit)
Spinnaker asymmetrical with sock (new 2020)
Adjustable backstay
(2) additional Lewmar 40AST EVO cockpit winches
Additional genoa tracks on cabin top, port & starboard
Her long waterline, plumb bow, tall hull sides, wide beam and performance package features make the Hanse 345 a fun, comfortable, and very fast boat. The extra beam carried so far aft allows for a spacious cockpit, large aft starboard cabin and voluminous storage closet to port. Unlike yachts this size just a few years ago, AHYOKA easily reaches speeds of 6.5-9.0 knots at various points of sail. Though she moves easily with minimal wind, the fun really kicks in with a 12+ knot breeze.
