ABOUT THE SHIPYARD
Founded in 1993 by Frédéric Jaouen and Frédéric Breuilly, JFA Yachts began its journey with Kermor, a 75-foot light-displacement sailboat. With a background in aluminum sailboat construction from Chantier Leguen Hemidy, the founders set their sights on building exceptional large sailing yachts.
Expanding into Motor Yachts
In 2001, JFA entered the motor yacht market with Axantha, a 122-foot explorer yacht. By the end of 2003, JFA was selected to build Bystander, a 42-meter classic-style yacht. This project elevated JFA’s technical capabilities, particularly in constructing yachts exceeding 500 GT while meeting Lloyd’s and MCA regulations. JFA’s commitment to excellence was recognized in 2006 when Bystander won Best Motor Yacht of the Year (32-43m) at the International Superyacht Society Awards.
In 2012, JFA delivered Mousetrap, a 33m carbon-fiber sailing catamaran, the largest of its kind at the time. This marked the beginning of the Long Island Catamarans brand. The first, WindQuest (85’), launched in 2014, followed by NDS Evolution in 2018, a yacht that has since ventured as far as Antarctica.
Commitment to Excellence
JFA Yachts has upheld a commitment to quality, versatility, and innovation. Every yacht built at its Concarneau shipyard reflects a passion for craftsmanship and customisation.
Location
Concarneau, located on the southern coast of Brittany, has a deep-rooted maritime heritage that dates back centuries. Originally a fortified fishing port, the city’s strong shipbuilding tradition evolved, and today, Concarneau remains a center of maritime excellence, housing modern shipyards like JFA Yachts.
«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
